That Mango behind Danae is pretty big, do you get many fruit and what type is it?

No idea what type it is Simo, although the fruit are quite fibrous. Historically we haven't had many fruit but last year I gave it plenty of water and we did land a few. They seem to need to come off while still green, as it takes forever for them to turn yellow. For me the biggest benefit is the sensational afternoon shade during the summer - we all sit around with our feet in a wading pool and a beer in hand....

Hey Gaz, how are you cooking your artichoke and any tips for me when I harvest mine?

Yep was my first time too. Cut off stalk, cut off top about 25mm down, insert garlic clove in hole, squeeze in around half a lemon's juice, wrap in alfoil and bake in oven for an hour, enjoy! I was really surprised how easy and tasty this was. The outer petals are a bit tough so you just squeeze out the goodness with your teeth and leave the thick membrane for the compost.

Not real sure, all I know is you gotta do it before the petals open. How many have you got?

So far (out of one plant) there is a main bulb coming up the middle then the last couple of days Ive notice another 2 coming out the sides of that one. They are still developing and quite green looking, I may need to do some googling for the correct timing as Ive heard there is a small window... is that true?

I probably started early (didn't want to miss the boat) I ate the main one first, followed a couple of weeks later by another 2, and there are 2 more I'll probably harvest this week. Once the outer petals started to open up I figured it was good to go.
